County Cub Newsletter:

Did you receive the County’s newsletter for Cub Scout leaders on 5th April?

The last edition contained information on the Water Activity Day (12th June) and the Outdoor Activity Pack Challenge resource.

Personal Accident & Medical Expenses Insurance

As you are probably aware, the Scout Association, through Unity (Scout Insurance Services), provides Personal Accident and Medical Expenses insurance for all Members – this policy provides limited benefits in the event a Member has an accident whilst taking part in an organised Scouting activity.  The attached Factsheet details the level of cover available and answers some FAQs.

Hi [wpmlfield name=”first-name”],

This terms meeting will be on Wednesday 3rd February at Warners End Scout HQ. Due to the topics being discussed, this is also open to Group Chairs (as usual) plus Scout Leaders and Explorer Scout Leaders.

The agenda for the evening is as follows:

  • Group updates (each group)
  • Brief district update (Russ)
  • Adult recruitment initiative (Simon Fancourt)
  • Process for linking Scouts into Explorer Scouts (Maureen/Russ)
    • Current process
    • Any possible improvements
    • Working together to make the process work more smoothly
  • Young Leader’s scheme
    • Brief overview of the modules and missions (Sandra Harding)
    • Support for Young Leaders and section leaders (Kerry Sayers)
    • Idea for rotating Young Leaders (Jason Farmer)

Please ensure your Scout Group (GSL/assistant/chair) and Troop (Scout leader/assistant) are represented for these important discussions.

Young Leaders account for almost 50% of our adult leadership – so it’s vitally important we retain Scouts into Explorers, then encouraging and supporting those who want to be Young Leaders.

See you on the 3rd February if not before.

Cheers

Russ

Every section from Hemel Hempstead represented will receive a FREE set of the new programme resources.

Please register beforehand so we can prepare handouts:
