Cub Scouts

Hi

We’re now 7 weeks away from our “bring-a-friend” Promise Renewal event on 23rd April, so we now need to think about manning each of the activities.

Staff from Phasels Wood will man some of the activities (those which require special training authorisation).

As parents have been asked to supervise their children, we need any leaders who are available that evening to support the event by helping run activities to ensure everything is open.

The time-slots and tasks which need help are as follows:

  • 3.00pm – 5.00pm – setting up the activities & check-in desk
  • 4.30pm – 7.00pm – marshalling the car park
  • 4.30pm – 5.30pm – distribution of wristbands/check-in
  • 5.00pm – 6.30pm – Beaver & Cub activities
  • 7.00pm – 9.00pm – Scout & Explorer Activities

Jane Harding has agreed to co-ordinate the rota for the evening – please email her if you’re available: E.Jane.Harding@hotmail.co.uk

Activity instructions and final details will be sent out a week or so before the event.

Regards

Russ

Hi

Please find details attached for this year’s Promise Renewal event – to be held at Phasels Wood on Tuesday 23rd April following last year’s very successful format.

For this year’s event, we will be trialling online payments direct from parents – this will save a huge amount of time by you and the event admin team, writing out parent’s details and filling in forms!

Please prepare to distribute these forms the first week back after half term and put a note in your diary to be there too. Parents will be asked to accompany young people around the activities but we still need around 50 adults to make the event happen – Jane Harding has agreed to co-ordinate the rota and we’ll send details of how to sign up for to help during half term.

Any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thanks

Russ

I’m sure you’re looking forward to the Summer break after a successful Summer term of Scouting. I thought it would be a good idea to drop you a quick email with future dates to note for those of you who like to plan ahead.

Electronic copies of the letters to young people and information for leaders are available from the weblink below each event. Full details will be emailed to you for each event in late August and will be explained at the leader’s meeting on 6th September… but for now, please put the dates in your diary.
